Ubuntu is a free operating system and I think it is better than windows
the current version is 8.04 and it has lots of great thing in it like desktop effects
there firefox for web surfing and open office and lots more they will send u a free cd
just go to shipit.ubuntu.com and try this great system
It is a live cd It can also be dual booted with windows if you do choose to install
